sluggish when taking off

sluggish when taking off
i got a problem with my B series motor.. when takin off its real sluggish like the car doesnt get power till like 2-2500 rpms but the car idle's fine what could the problem be
*edit* has new dizzy and plugs and wires are good

i was hoping to find my answers on this, i got the same problem with my 1990 DA, no power until about 3k, then it i back to normal, people have told me its the valves, seems like timing problem but but lookin for a sure answer
