safc hack-missin link question
I keep reading that you don't need the missing link with a safc hack. My question is why not. Doesn't the engine still throw a code even with the safc in it.
I am just wondering if someone could explain to me why you don't need the missing link with the afc hack

No, you do not need both. I am not 100% sure HOW the AFC works, read the hack FAQ on here. I guess for lack of a better explanation, when you use the bigger injectors and the AFC, you "trick" the ECU into not seeing the boost. The bigger the injectors, the more boost UNTIL you hit the MAP sensor limit of like 10-11 psi. Again read the FAQ to learn how it works. Trick is th eonly way I can explain it without reading the FAQ
here is the link.....there is also afc hack over at turbod16.com

An AFC alters the MAP signal to the ECU, and running the hack alters it to such a low point that the ECU will not be reading any boost. The only problem is that it really ***** up the ignition maps.
