S LIGHT BLINKING!!!!!!!
MAYBE YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME???
HERES MY ORINGINAL POSTS
ok guys i did the search before posting so dont come down to hard..
i have a 91 accord ex auto. the s light is blinking and the car is shifting like crap. the speedometer works fine. the thread i found says something about a wire with blue tape on it and jumping it.. anyways i didnt really get how to jump it or with what wires to jump them too. also i went to a local salvage yard and swaped tcu and still no luck i can send pics of the mess i have under the carpet. there is also two wires that go in a plug that doesnt hook up to anything so i dont know if thats a problem so any help would be great

generally on an accord of that age, the S blinks because it is telling you your car is S-LOW hehe just kidding, its probably a speed sensor

The 'S' light is kinda like a check-engine light, but for your tranny. Look around for instructions for pulling CEL error codes, for your year (not the same as my '98). Post back with the codes.
If you jumper a connection & watch the light blinking, then your 'S' light will blink its own code while the CEL is blinking its code.
If you simply peel back the carpet & watch the flashing LED, then you have to find both the engine ECM & the transmission TCM & watch both their flashing LEDs.
I know you found instructions about jumpering, but I sorta thought that setup was newer than 1991. Make sure you look for the proper year.

If '91 has the wire-jumper thing...
Find the proper wire (this is the part I can't really help since I don't have a '91).
Bend a paperclip into a 'U' shape, put it into the plug.
Turn ignition on.
Watch the CEL & 'S' lights flashing.

under the dash on passenger kick panel there is a blue plug that does not plug anywhere it has 2 wires it is on rt side of blower motor , find it and do as JIMBLAKE said connect the 2 pins together and read the blinks ,,, post here we can detect code

cel light codes is 5 blinks
tranny codes is 1 quick blink, pause, 1 quick blink followed by 1 regular blink.
any help would be great

CEL code 5 is manifold pressure is higher or lower than expected. But that's from my '98 Helm book, I didn't think '91 had that code. Who's got a '91 Helm book?
I don't know about your tranny codes, they don't match my list, but who knows what's different '91 vs. '98??

It would be the intake manifold. For my '98, that means the MAP sensor reading is inconsistent with all the other sensors & the operating conditions of the engine. I didn't think '91 had that much software cross-checking all the sensors against each other. That kinda stuff is why OBD-2 cars have so many sensors. Redundant measurements.

That doesn't make sense. Can you check the code again? Remember that between codes there is a long pause, about 3 seconds. Start after that. There may be more than one code. They will keep repeating.

If your sure about that, your TCU must be f-ed up. Long blinks always come first.

The way you're describing it, the first code is one short blink. Tranny code 1 (in 1998...!) occurs together with CEL code 70, it means the lock-up clutch can't engage/disengage & it's stuck in 4th. I don't know what it mean in 1991.
But then you say it's a short blink followed by a long one. Is there another long pause between these 2? If so, then you've got 3 codes. Code 1; repeated code 1; & code 10. My list doesn't have any tranny code 10.

yea i found a site that told me that code 1 is the lock up control selonoid, which doesnt tell me how to fix it. and the second one is the ect i think..

I bet 'How-to-fix-it' would be pretty specific to your year. Gotta get your hands on a Helm manual.
Generally, once you have the code, you still have some diagnosis for exactly which component is broken. As far as the TCM throwing error codes, it can't tell the difference between a bad control solenoid or disconnected wiring.
