Remote Start add on
My civic has autostart. Has never not worked.
if you buy a quality kit, and a good install it will be fine.
Most new alarms/remote start systems are 5spd compatible now. There's a sequence in which you "tell" the car it's in neutral and is okay to remote start.

I have
installed on my 99 GSR and it works perfectly. The ONLY issue I've had is the (main) LCD remote going bad which I ordered a replacement online for like $50. I also had an older model in my previous Civic and also never had any issues with it.
Both cars are manual. As long as you get an expert who knows their ****, they can make it work on a manual safely, with a little effort. The person I went to builds a custom safety setup which prevents the car from starting while in gear. I'm not an electrician so I can't explain it in those terms but I'll try to explain how it works in reference to my beautiful electrical diagram below.
Essentially when you go into gear, the stick will push the small lever and activate/deactivate the switch (small boxes on top left or bottom right). When that button on the switch is pressed the car won't start. If you really want, I can take a pic of my actual setup. Lmk.

Doesn't drive a $500 civic since it was stolen. Does drive a $500 Saturn, but i would never worry about remote start on that. I want remote start for the wife's Mustang.
Vroom Vroom...
One of the reviews on a viper one complained about starting the car with the AC on to cool down the summers puts too much draw on something. Any truth to this guys?
