REAL High-flow cat
I'm looking for a high-flow cat for my '92 H23 vtec. All I can find are testpipes, but I have to be able to pass emissions. I want to do it right, interested more in quality than the cheapest I can get; within reason of course.
-I've been searching, but keep getting error that the search server is down.
TIA

All cats are the same, test pipes aren't cats. Legal Hi-Flow cats are just normal cats with an upped price that say "High flow" on them. Illegal hi-flow cats are pipes made to resemble cats. Trust me dude, I've been a safety/emissions (smog) tester for five years.
i know this is a month late post but i thought this was pretty interesting when i read it. Ill probably get flamed for this but... i was reading the latest issue of modified magazine *gasp* and stumbled across their "The Real JDM" column for the month which just so happened to focus on "green power" and primarily hitting on high flow cats and quiter exhausts.
Apparently some of the fastest time attack cars such as the Autech Tsukada BNR34 GT-R and Top Secrets V35 widebody Skyline coupe are completely street legal. The Autech GT-R for example produces 0 Hydro carbon parts per million and has 0% carbon monoxide rating. Unfortunately the cats they are using utilize platinum to extract the most power per hydrocarbon and platinum isn't exactly cheap. Also noted is that the APEX super catalyzer is "one of the leaders" in the japanese market. It uses 130 cells per square inch as compared to a stock cat which will use somewhere between 400-600 c/si and this lower number of cells supposedly improves exhaust flow resulting in an increase in power.
Now what id really like to know is what aspects of a cat cause low HC ppm and CO% numbers. hope this helps someone in some way
