Default Aftermarket cats and emissions

Anyone here running an aftermarket cat and can still pass emissions? I just went for an emission test today, and I failed, but not by much. The tester said that my cat was faulty, so now I need to get another one. I have on now a carsound cat, and its maybe 2 yrs old. I did run it with an untuned engine for maybe 7 months, so that's probably my problem.

Anyway, I just want to know if anyone here is using one, carsound, whatever, and can still pass emissions with their snail.

Also, how would the cat be fouled? I'm just curious how many different ways can a cat get fouled.

I run AirCare with a Carsound cat too. I have lots of problems passing, though.

You can foul a cat by continuously running rich or by striking it on rocks/speedbumps/whatever, if your car's too low.
