Re-bore cylinders
Is it absolutely necessary to re-bore your cylinders when you get your piston rings changed?
I'll most likely need to get the rings changed on my B18C1, but I was hoping they wouldn't need to re-bore and sleeve the cylinders.

It all depends on what happen to the motor. Did something internal break and score the cylinder walls?? How many miles on the motor??
Are the cylinders out of round?? How did they determine you need re-sleeving?? Is it possible that you mean bore and hone the cylinders.
If the cylinders look good and there not out of round, then just do a hone.

60K on the motor, nothing broke internally, so I don't expect to have the cylinder walls scored or scratched.
I can't confirm if the cylinders are out of round, but it's doubtful.
No one actually determined that I need a re-sleeving, a mechanic at work told me that if you want a piston ring job to be done properly, you need to get the block re-sleeved.
I did meant bore and hone, but honing pretty much has to be done no matter what.
That's a lot of questions.....Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
