Default Question about using Plastigage

When plastigaging the main bearings, is this the correct procedure :

1. Install ALL the bottom half bearings in the main journals (in the block)
2. Install the Crankshaft
3. Place a piece of green plastigage strip on 1st crank journal
4. Install bearing half in corresponding main cap
5. Lube main bolts with 30W Oil and torque main cap to specs
6. Remove main cap and measure crushed plastigage to compare with manual.

Am I doing this correctly in the steps I came up with?

When torquing the bolts, do I use just regular 5w30 or 10w30 or does it have to be just 30W straight? Can I use Lucas Oil Stabalizer?

I personally install all the main caps and torque the entire sequence. Then reverse in correct order and measure all of them at once.

Exactly. Put it together as you're going to final assemble it with the proper torque sequence then there is no question of whether or not things were exactly the same when you clearanced it.

i think the purpose of the oil are just for the accuracy of the tightening torque...
