i plan on building a mini me, I want to get an a6 block, with eagle rods and honda pistons. how long do you think this will hold (mainly the oem pistons(zc))? what if later on down the road I want to add a small shot of nos.

Or should I just get stronger OEM Rods(d16a1)? kinda on a budget but want reliability.

 

forged components is where the strength is at. i dont think its a good idea to keep stock slugs when using nitrous, id just do it right and get forged rods and pistons and save you time.

 

the reason why i asked is I usually hear rods breaken and then the pistons get messed up cause the rod let loose.

but I never hear that just the piston was damaged

 

or buy forged pistons and shot peene the rods... theres a cheap alternative...DONT USE STOCK PISTS..

 

you have to modify stockpistons in order for them to work with aftermarket rods.


you have to put c-clips in them to hold the wrist pin in place
