Default Vitara Slugs on Eagle rods. Are the circlips bad?

So I currently have srp pistons on eagle rods, I think the pins are pressed into the pistons because I dont see any circlips. Since the pistons are a bit trashed, Im thinking of buying some new bore vitara pistons and putting them on the eagle rods.

Can I simply get a shop to press the pistons/rods apart and just use the circlips to install the new pistons to the rods?

I read that the circlips may be less than ideal, but Im unsure why that would be, since they make them that way and people run them.

Also will there be any problems removing my old pistons from the eagles. Im really hoping to re-use them

and they can be pressed out no problems though so the rod can be re-used??

Im hoping to put vitaras on the same rods next, re-using my old rods

should press out just fine.... circlips hold in most pins on most forged pistons

I have SRP pistons on eagle rods in my gsr. The clips are there just a pain in the *** to get out. The wrist pins are floating so once the clips are removed they should slide right out.

i've found the best tool is a 90* pick... takes me 5 seconds to pop each circlip out of my pistons

I agree with the 90 pick first time taking them out is a PITA and then you get the hang of it .

There all the same so there has to be clips there, they arent a press fit design

there's a machined circular relief on the piston at either end of the wristpin... at least there should be... srp's might not have them since the wristpins are press fit
