puttin obd-1 motor in obd 2 car
i just bought a complete obd-1 gsr that was wrecked and am transferring everything to my 96 EK. now i have searched old threads and found that i need the jumper harness to plug in the obd-1 computer, so i'm ordering that. also, i found that it would be easier to get a 96-98 vtec harness out of a 96-98 ex, and if i bought both of those things would i still need to change the alternator, injectors and distributor even though i am using a obd-1 computer? i was thinking i could just buy those to things and go, since ill have all the mounts, linkage, axles, etc...already. or am i missing the whole picture completely?
The OBD1 alternator, and injectors won't plug into a OBD2 harness.
Everything else should work.
YOu have an adaptor to run the OBD1 ecu right?

Ok you are gonna have to rewire the distrubutor because the gsr has 2 plugs where as 96-98 civics have one.If you have the gsr harness then itll save you some trouble, if you do you need to use the alternator plug off of it and wire it into the 96-98 ex harness. You could also do that on the injectors by clipping some wire off and wiring them into the 96-98 civic harness. Youll also have to change the plug on the iat sensor and the iac valve. Pm me when youre doing the swap if you need any help.
