proplem removing cruise control from 98 civic b16a
Hey so i was taking out my cruise control in my 98 civic ex it has a b16a swap, so i take the little rubber line that goes to the black can on the drivers side by the clutch resivor, i followed it over and it didnt go into the back of the intake manifold.
the rubber line coming off the black can, goes into a sensor. So i unpluged it caped the sensor off, Car wont idle. The line that comes off the black can befor it goes into the sensor it has Y spliter and one of the lines plugs into the top of the throttle body. Also caped that off, wont idle.
Only way the car idles is if i cap off one side of the black can near the clutch resivor and leave the other side running into the sensor and cap the throttle body.
Can someone please help me out. Thanks

Yah ill snap a picture tommorow, the line coming off the black can, goes over to the manifold, but it was a Y spliter and one parts goes to the top of the TB and the other side goes into this 4 wire sensor, at least i belive it was a 4 wire. I also dont have a fitv either was geting a surging idle so we made a block of plate, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

on a b16 with an oem intake manifold, you should have a nipple on the backside of the manifold, towards the drivers side. the line for the cruise control is the only thing on that.
something sounds strange with the way your vacuum is set up.

Re: proplem removing cruise control from 98 civic b16a
Well i checked out the b16's sensors photos online, and what is connected from the little black can is my MAP sesnor.
So the rubber line running from the can to the Y spliter @ the Y one goes to the MAP and the other to the top of the Throttle body on the nipple that sticks out.
So if someone could tell me how to reroute this that'd be great.
Thanks again

Alright so i got the issue with the car dying cause of some random sensor.
Now i went to take the cable that runs from the Cruise control to the gas pedal assembly, How do you get it off, its like rivited in there.
\Do i just cut the cable with some wire cutters or is there another way?

mine didnt have a white clip at the pedal, it was weird, so i just cut the wire with wire cutters, i also noticed that befor the gas pedal was harder to push as in it would sometimes make the car buck. Well after cutting the cable that issue is no more. got it all sorted out looks alot cleaner now and i can see my Micro V P/S underdrive pulley
