My experience with Innovative Mounts
So about a month ago I decided it was time for a new engine for my prelude. I removed the engine and noticed all of my motor mounts were basically shot. I plan on doing a build in the near future so I figured I'd get an aftermarket setup from Innovative Mounts.
4/1/2010 (Thursday)
I had limited time to do the swap as this is my daily driver so I called before placing the order to see if they had them in stock. A woman answered the phone and said that they had just finished production on them and after powder coating would be ready for pickup or shipping the following Monday. I went ahead and placed the order and decided to pick them up as it was cheaper and I didn't have to wait for the shipping.
4/5/2010 (Monday)
I called before driving down there to make sure they were ready, same woman answered and said they were still at the powder coating facility and would "DEFINITELY" be ready for pickup the next day. This was somewhat understandable as it was a holiday weekend.
4/6/2010 (Tuesday)
I called again before making the trip down there, same woman answered and said that they were still waiting on a couple of pieces to return from their powder coating facility. She put me on hold for 15 minutes, came back and said that they were on the truck from powder coating and she would call me back in a couple of hours when they arrived.
A few hours roll by and nothing, so I call back and she says they've arrived and offers me free next day shipping as it was too late in the day for me to make it down there before they closed. FANTASTIC! I thought.
4/7/2010 (Wednesday)
The UPS truck drives right by my house and nothing. I call Innovative and the same person answers and says they were STILL waiting on them to come back from powder coating and they were on their way back and I would receive them the following day.
4/8/2010 (Thursday)
Pretty much a repeat of Wednesday, only now they had just sent the driver's side bracket to powder coating yesterday and when it arrived later on they they would send it out to me. Yeah right this is starting to sound scripted.
4/9/2010 (Friday)
BIG F***ING SURPRISE, NO MOUNTS. I call back and I talk to the same person. She said they were still waiting for that driver's side bracket.
This is when I lost it, blacked out, and said a few things to this poor liar of a girl that would make Gamgam and Peepop crap their Depends.
She either hung up or put me on hold, I don't know, I was too busy thinking of obscenities. I called back and a different guy answered, I yelled at him for a few minutes and told him to send the parts they had ready so I could at least get the ball rolling on the swap.
Later that day I got a tracking notification from UPS for a 9 lb package.
4/13/2010 (Tuesday)
I received the mounts, minus the driver's side bracket, and began installing the motor.
I let a week go by before contacting them again because I had an exam to study for and temporarily ran the stock mount.
4/19/2010 (Monday)
I call them, the girl answers and I kindly ask her about the status of my order. She says "Oh, you haven't received that yet?"
"NOOO."
"Okay I'll send that out today, and you WILL receive that tomorrow."
4/20/2010 (Tuesday)
No bracket.
4/21/2010 (Wednesday)
I call Innovative, guess who answers.
"Innovative, how can I help you?"
"Hi, is there a manager around that I could speak to?"
"May I ask who is calling?"
"It's Brad........."
"Hold please"
...click...on hold for 10 minutes...
click.
"Hello, I have a tracking number for you..."(which didn't post on the UPS website until later that evening)
DAMN STRAIGHT!!! YOU KNEW EXACTLY WHO I WAS AND WHAT I WANTED.
I finally got the bracket this Thursday. Overall I'm happy with the construction of the product. However, this is probably some of the worst customer service I've ever received, and I don't appreciate being lied to by a company day after day. If I hadn't called (TWICE) earlier this week I don't think I would have ever received the bracket. I'm convinced that other than being capable of answering phones, this person is completely useless and should be fired.
My advice to anyone planning on purchasing one of their products is to stay on them and make sure they get your order out.
