I just got my new motor put it and everything was running pretty good. until last night i was chilling with some friends and went to start my car and it didnt start.

i would turn the key, all the accessories came on as usual such as radio and lights on the dash, but when i push in the clutch i can hear the starter "click" but wont fire up. someone was telling me that it could be my main relay or something like that...
can you guys help me please...
95 gsr with type R head if that helps

 

sounds like a bad starter to me.....check that first.....junk yards should have them for $50 or so

 

if it was the starter, it shouldnt make that clicking noise when i push in the clutch correct??

 

the starter solenoid makes the click, doesnt mean the starter itself is good.

before you chuck out the old starter.........what flywheel are you using?

 

stock LS flywheel

 

ok then it might be your starter after all.......

 

does it click more than once?

i would look at your battery.

 

nope just one click everytime i push in the clutch

 

Jump the battery and see if it starts; sometimes when the battery is low, the starter clicks even when your dash and everything else is lit.

 

had same thing happen, replace/charge battery, my car still started from jumpstart/pushstart... turns out my phonecharger was messing with the battery, cause same thing happen with new battery after 2 weeks, so i stopped leaving the charger in, and no problems since... weird how it worked out.
