im having a battery problem. at first the car ran fine then all of a sudden it dies and no power. checked the fuses and battery fuse was blown 80a. so i replaced that battery fuse with a extra 100a fuse i had laying around and now it seems like the battery is getting too much power because every time i go to connect the battery back up it sparks and basically melts the battery terminals (leaves scars where ever it touches). what could cause this?

i just install a JRSC and the alternator power supply bolt basically sits on the bottom half of the supercharger (the rubber piece is covering the alternator power supply bolt) u think this could be the problem or could it be the 100a fuse im using?

set up is a stock 92 si with d16z6 jrsc. grounds wires are connected (trans and valve cover)

You blow fuses from a short, putting a larger fuse in is likely to start a fire.

Check that rubber piece again, covering the alt bolt. Bet the engine moving wore right through it. That very likely IS the problem. Even if it didnt it's likely arcing to the super charger.

Find the short before the firemen do!

Thoroughly check for any wires the are frayed , touching , bad grounds, etc.

Also check for damaged wires. Damaged wires will no longer flow current properly causing resistance.

i didnt even start the car for more than 30 sec. and that rubber piece was still in good condition. so it couldnt have wore it out already. the initial start up it was fine but the second start up this happened. just looking for ideas to check later.

but im gonna try to move the alternator piece tho. i looked at the JRSC instructions and says to clock it 90 degrees but hopefully i can with my alternator. ill go check it out in a bit, its to damn hot to do anything right now.
