Default p30 ecu problems?

I recentely attemped to solder in a mugen chip into my ecu but it made my car run like ****. I have just taken out the chip (and resistors and capacitors) but now my car will not start at all. Its not giving out any MIL codes andits getting fuel spark etc. Does anyone know how i can solve this as my car is stuck at work (yeah i done it in work time...dont tell my boss!) i have checked the ecu fuses etc they are fine, and the car worked fine before my attempted chippery. Thanks
james UK.

Did you remove the jumper wire at j1 to check to see if it's okee? Lift a trace or do something else that could've damaged the board?

yeah i did remove the jumper at j1. There was a bit of damage to the track for the 2 resistors (10k ones in series). I have tested to check j1 is not connected and its def not. Is it just the jumper j1 which brings the chip into play. In theory it should work stock with the jumper removed right?? cheers for any help.

Yup, it's stock with no j1, and j1 is all that brings it into play, I'm a little busy now but pm or aim me and I'll see what I can look up for you.

ok mate thanks. I live in the UK and dunno what the time differance is to where u are. Are the PCB's and components sensitive to overheating cos the soldering iron i used was a gas powered pen type one which givees alot of heat out around the tip. Do u think its possible i could have overheated it causing it to not work??

Did you solder in a socket and then stick the chip in? You might've overheated the chip or the 74hc373. The time difference between sweden and I is six hours.

Yeah i put in a socket (the carrier for the chip) and another chip. 2 orange ceramic caps, jumper, and a 1k resistor. My car ran like **** with an engine light on so i took everything i put in out and cleaned it up a bit. tried my ecu back in the car and it doesn't start now. Weird thing is it getting spark/fuel. I can take a picture on my digital camera when i get home. (in work now/nightshift-11pm in uk) and show u see if u can see anything out of place. How easy is it to get a p30 2nd hand as they are like gold dust to get over here. Thanks again for ur help all UK based honda sites are rubbish

Are there any simple tests i can do to check my ecu is getting power/functioning ok? The main relay wouldn't cause my car not to start would it. Does anyone know what alarm immobilisers stop is it the fuel pump??
