Default Overheating/No heat

For the past few hours I've been trying to bleed my cooling system but haven't had much luck. The car warms up normally and stays at a good temperature(Just below halfway on the temp gauge) at idle for about 7 minutes and then the temp gauge all of a sudden moves closer to hot and will keep going but I shut it off at 3/4 the way up.

My radiator hoses are all hot but neither the inlet or outlet hoses for the heater core are even warm. I see a lot of topics for one hose but not both.

Thanks

I changed the thermostat about a week ago and it opened in 180 degree water

wait until it cools down....take the radiator cap off, fill it, leave the cap off and let the car idle with the car on full heat, until you feel hot air out of ur vents....then shut the heater off, and continue to let the car idle through two fan cycles....add coolant whenever it goes down throughout process....after the radiator fan cycles twice, make sure radiator is topped off and install cap. also add coolant to reservoir to full mark.

I knew I left something out. I have never been able to get heat coming out of the vents and while bleeding, the radiator was low but it never took any water from the reservoir. It did very seldom a few times.

thanks for the quick reply, I really need to fix it but can't figure it out

The thing I'm missing from that solution is I'm not getting heat.

Also, when I have the bleed valve open, the stream is only consistent right when the car is overheating. When it is normal temp, the is either no coolant coming out or just a trickle

Anyone have any ideas? I checked the heater valve and it opens and closes

there could be a possibility that ur heater core is plugged up.

If it were plugged, would the inlet hose stay cold?

when you have the car idling for a while with the cap off, and the car is fully warm and still no heat...sometimes i hold the revs at about 3k for about 5-10 seconds and that usually gets the heat to flip to hot.

Ill try that when I get off work. I held it at 2k but never any higher. Maybe the water pump isn't strong enough to push the air out at 2k

Thanks for all the info.

Anyone else have any ideas I could try? Once I get off work I'm gonna be going at it again
