Overheating
Well, I just did a motor swap so I can take my car to the ref. Everything went ok, but yesterday I was driving for about 20 minutes and smelled coolant. Looked at my gauge and the needle was pointing past the H (hot). I pull over and pop the hood. The coolant was boiling in my over fill bottle and leaking out of it. I Forgot the night before when I was letting all of the air bubbles out to tighten the top back on. So I wait til my bro comes and I fill up the radiator with water just enough so i can get home. 10 minutes into the drive home, the needle starts going up. so i turn on the heater full blast and the needle goes back down to normal.
today i put some more coolant in and let the car idle for about 10 minutes while having the radiator cap off so the air bubble would come out. I leave for about 1 minute come back and coolant is shoot up out of the radiator. i look at my gauge again and it's at it's normal temp.
sooo.. what do you guys think is the matter? i'm going to change out my thermostat tonight and see what happens. could it also be the water pump?
