Oil pressure sender outlet????
I have a b16a2 by the way... My dumbass ripped the wire that goes into the oil pressure sender outlet.. I THINK.. The oil pressure sender unit is that bolt that goes into the block right next to the oil filter correct? If so Thats what I ripped out.. how important is this unit??? should i redo the wires or can i just plug it up with the bolt and keep driving like that? i know this could be a very dumb question
so please be gentle!!!!! ok then thanks!

I would, but I don't think you have to. You oil light might always be on and if you are ever low on oil pressure you will not no because the light is always on.
having a hard time trying to figure out what this thing does.. cuz now I took the wire off and started my car up and it drove fine with no oil lights... which is leading me to believe this is something sort of like a knock sensor... there but really doesn't do anything unless you are running special things like oil pressure gauge and so forth.. anyone NOT use this sender outlet and not have any problems?
Here is how I beleive it works, when you oil pressure drops to low, it sends an electic current to the ecu, then sending the oil light on. If you don't have it hooked up like you do, then there is no current going threw it like normaly and thats why your light is not coming on. So your car will be fine, but if your oil pressure ever drops, your light won't come on cause you unplugged it.

Anyone wanna help me out here? I've done some searches on the subject of if you even need an oil pressure sender unit and from what I've read bascially all that thing does is throw the oil pressure light in the cluster if it drops below 3psi.. in my opinion thats kind of useless since if its at 3psi thats already bad news! I just need someone to confirm this.....
secondly.. I noticed my sender unit does not fit flush on the block.. as in it doesn't actually tighten all the way to the point that the head of the unit touches the block.. is this normal or can it be i'm not using the right unit? or maybe I'm just not tightening it enough? thats one tight space i gotta get my damn fat fingers into!

No its not needed, the unit itself is needed to be in the block or else oil will drip out of the hole.
Anyone else other than 90blackcrx to confirm this? I can't believe out of all the H-T members NO ONE knows the answer to this question????
All the oil pressure sender does is send oil pressure information to the gauge cluster. When it reaches the low threshold, the light goes on. VTEC has its own pressure switch. And yes it has to be installed to keep oil from squirting out, but it does not have to be connected electrically, however you will lose functionality of the oil light.

the oil press. switch/sender is just a switch that grounds itself when there is no oil press. that is why you see the light stay on when key is in the "on" position but goes off when you start because the oil press. in the system opens the circuit in the switch. basically, no oil pressure, the switch is grounded to the block. oil pressure, and the switch opens.
