Default Oil pressure fluctuation

I've noticed that lately my oil pressure has been fluctuating a bit. It is mostly when the car has just been started. When i'm idleing it dosen't move but when i'm accelerating it does. When I give it a lot of gas the pressure drops about 30 psi then it goes back up again. I'm just looking to see if this is a sigh that something is wrong or is my gauge messed up.

I have herd that peoples guages are not so accuarate when they first start up and are cold. But once they warm up, they are fine. It should go down when letting of the gas and go up when pressing on the gas.

Oil pressure will fluctuate when the motor is revving (thus accelerating)

Sorry, I worded it totally wrong. I know that it is supposed to go up and down my problem is that for example if i'm reving at 3500 rpm and I go wot the oil pressure drops from 75 to a little under 50, then it gos back up to 75 and higher. I don't remember it dropping like that before. When I hold a steady rpm it does not bounce around it seems like its only under heavy load.

How did you hook up the gauge?

I ran a line off the oil pressure sensor hole to a junction block on the fire wall. I put the sender and the stock sender in there then ran a line to my head for the vtec.

Ok something else i've noticed when I go around or swirve the car the pressure drops as well. This kinda sounds like it might be the gauge or the sender. Anyone have any opinions.

Is your oil level full?

If the oil level is full, you may want to drop the oil pan and check the oil pickup. Is the pan dented? I suspect the pickup is blocked, either by crud on the screen or baffle around it is dented in.

Assuming that you have an Electrical gauge, make sure that the housing of the sender is grounded. If it is not, you will not get a good reading if any at all.

Thanks for all the input but I changed my oil and the problem went away. I may have been down a half liter or something. I'm still not sure why it would do that only been down a little oil.
