Just controls the idiot light. No need to run one. It is suggested that you do run an oil pressure gauge though.

FWIW, when I installed my oil pressure guage I left the stock sender on and it caused the pressure to read WAY low (like 2psi) - scared the **** out of me!
Anyways I just disconnected it and the guage works correctly now, not sure if this was just me or everyone would have this problem.

Cool, thanks guys. I am installing a autometer elect oil pressure gauge... removing the stock sensor should make the installl much easier (no Ts).
Is there another oil pressure sensor? Doesn't vtec check to make sure oil pressure is > X before kicking in? How does the ECU check the oil pressure?

ROFL. I honestly don't think this POS ZC is going to handle 1/2 bar... I'm finding more and more CRAP done to it. My B16 was wired better than this gdamn thing.
