after cleaning the oilpan (the surface the gasket goes on) and block install the gaSKET and torque according to helms manual

if both surface are clean and dry you will not have any issues

i never use honda bond on my oilpan gaskets and they never leak!!!

i use ultra grey on the corners and a dap on the alignment holes. never leaks. i have left it dry with no leaks, but after a while it gets hard and will leak around the alignment holes, which is why i know add some there

anyone who votes to cover the complete gasket with Hondabond is just being a jackass. Follow the manual. Engineers know what they are doing.

have you ever taken apart a motor that was built by one of these jackasses? fn RTV everywhere in the engine.

its not needed, do it just like the manual says, make sure to torque the bolts properly, then go over them again as they will loosen up as you get them all tight.

On paper gaskets, I always use gaskacinch and anywhere two castings meet or in corners i put a dab of RTV. At work I just use black permatex because my boss is cheap and that is what he buys. On my own stuff I use Toyota black RTV, it is the best RTV made.
