Default Oil Burning Quite Quickly

about 2 months ago i replaced my blown Y8 motor with another Y8, last week oil light flickered for not even a second - check the oil and it is bone dry. car isn't leaking anywhere, it's not smoking. i know i should be checking the oil regularly but i was just going to change the oil cause its been about 3500 since it got changed last. any thoughts even though i know it can be a ton of things internally that can cause oil to burn..but something is causing almost 4 quarts of oil to burn off really damn quick.

You might not be able to see it burning while you're driving. I would suggest a compression test and maybe leakdown and go from there.

Exactly. Also check your plugs to see if they're fouled.
Yeah, that could get expensive, sorry.

i did a comp test on the gf's car and the #'s were good, the #'s were consistent in all 4 cylinders, and the plugs were not fouled at all, but yet oil was still being lost little by little, so when the clutch went out, i got it replaced with a new flywheel and clutch. when i pulled the old flywheel off i noticed that the rear main oil seal was bad and oil was leaking from that particular spot. im going to get that rear main oil seal replaced and hope that it fixes the oil loss problem....
