i got an obd1 civic. I just got a 97 gsr head and im heading towards ls vtec. the head came with the obd2a distributor so i dont want to go out and get an obd1 gsr distributor. my question is does anyone know where i can get an obd2a-obd1 distributor adapter? i know they make a obd2b to obd1 adapters. but from what ive head, obd2a and obd2b distributors have different plugs.

if the obd2 dizzy plugs are the same, cant i simply use a "obd2b-obd1" distributor adapter. for example...

if it comes down to it, i would use your method. but i want to make my harness clean and uncut as possible
. also, i tried to do the same thing trying to put a obd0 distributor on my ls, all wires matched up but two
. so i hope obd1 and obd2 dizzy colors are the exact same

bumping this up from the dead because a guy pm'd me a long time ago saying his distributor didnt work after color-matching the wires. i didnt have a answer at the time because i havent/still havent tried out my distributor yet. well i was browsing around and i came across this diy thread. looks like even though the obd1 and obd2 plugs share the same color wires, each colored wires arent the same. heres the thread, hope this helps anyone in the future.

when ur using a obd1 dizzy in a obd2B car u dont need to use any sorta of harness it a 90% P&P situation the only wire u need to splice together is the black/yell wich is ignition output , if u havent notes bfore the obd1 dizzy plug and obd2b plgus are identically the same with the difference that the obd1 has a secondary plug wich contain the black/yell wire and a blue wire

im using a obd2 dizzy in a obd1 car. both distributors share the same colored wires but im not sure if each colored wire share the same purpose, according to the link. Some wires are the same while others aren't. i never tried out my distributor but i color-match the obd2 dizzy with obd1 plugs. i have a feeling im gonna have to the some re-wiring and follow the chart on the link.
man, i wish i could find that guy that sent me a pm. he was having problems and i have a feeling that the wiring is wrong.
