so the heated ones are suppose to be the primary o2 correct? and if all the wires from engine harness match up with the 4 wire o2 than what else can i do to fix the cel light?
Ummm - I thought you were asking whether the 2 black wires on the sensor were interchangable... Do you have a wiring diagram for your car?
The black wires are for the heater element, those are interchangable with each other. The signal wires aren't interchangable. Are THOSE messed up?
On mine, the primary (before the cat) & secondary (after the cat) sensors are both heated.
What code is it throwing? What kind of car? What year? What engine?

A '95 GSR ECU is OBD-1 so it's only looking for one O2 sensor. Code 41 is for the heater circuit.
One heater wire is supposed to get battery voltage (from the main relay). Check to see whether that's good. The other heater wire goes to ECU pin A6. The ECU closes that side to ground to turn on the heater. Actually I've heard that it's 'on' all the time. That's also how the ECU 'knows' whether the heater is working.
The sensor signal goes to ECU pin D14. But I suppose it would throw code 1 if that was not hooked up.

well i guess it's hooked up right according to your diagram and thanks! but i'm still throwing the same code. before i swapped o2 sensor out the other one that i had in there didn't throw the code til like 20 min or so of driving and the one right now the cel comes one immediately after i start the car. i don't get it but this weekend i'll get a multimeter and check the voltage reading and go from there.
Can someone else verify that all 4 wire o2 or heated sensors?
