its a 98 GSR in a 97 hatch, vtec is not switching over, i can hear the secondary butterfly at 5800 rpm thats about it, and no check engine light
but here is what i have checked, i switch the whole vtec solonoid with a known working one, the oil pressure switch with a known working one, and still no vtec
diconnect the plug to the oil pressure switch and i get a C.E.L. for code 22 oil pressure switch, turn the key on and didn't have to drive at all to get the C.E.L.
diconnect the plug to the vtec solonoid and i still get a C.E.L. for code 22, but this time i had to drive the car for a couple of mins.
what is the deal, how come i didn't get a code 21 when i disconnect the vtec solonoid? what else should i check for now?

Ok check the male plug that goes to the pressure switch.
Check the male plug that goes to the solenoid.

They should be the same, SWITCH them. In a swap its EAZY as **** to accidentally get those plugs confused. Took us 3 days to figure out, and 2 minutes to fix.
