Default throwing cel

VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch
* invalid code for non-VTEC engine what do i have to buy or how can i fix it???

idk about fixing it, but you can just disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, and the cel will go off.

So is your car throwing the VTEC oil pressure switch code and you don't have VTEC?

Ok i have vtec i have a 1995 gsr but im throwing that code when that happens it cuts off my vtec in high rpm area and wont let me rev up to 8000 it will cut me off around 6000 now is the switch something i can just go and buy and switch up or is it more complicated that???

Check your oil and make sure it is filled to the top of the hash marks on the dipstick.

it says switch defective or unplugged. check if that green thing on the left of your motor is plugged

yes i had a vafc install about 3 months ago i check all wires and they were fine its not the oil cause i had it fill all the way up it comes on sometime not always though. after a couple good runs it will come on or if im on the high way about 75-80 it will come on.

My guess is one of two things:
1. Bad wiring to the VAFC and is an intermittent problem.
2. The wiring to the VAFC shorted out a connection in the switch.

How did you check the wiring for the VAFC, visually or by some sort of gizmo?

I would check the settings in the VAFC and make sure everything is set right. Check the wiring order going into the VAFC. And last check the wiring with a voltmeter.

Thanks for the info i have to get someone else to check out my wires to see if they look ok then but i here diffrent this from alot of people some say vtec pressure switch so say vafc i dont know what to belive now???

Well, if it started right after the VAFC was installed, then I'd blame it on the VAFC and installation.
