Just wait your car may have a mind of it's own like mine! I have had the b16 in there for a month...never had Vtec...once or twice I could hear a difference....Last week the car was over heating...at least the sensor said..I also started getting a code...code 17 ....the VSS. Speedometer works fine..so im guessing its the sensor. Today we replaced the fan relay..and fan temp sensor...made some adjustments on the timeing...runs beautiful...didn't change the VSS sensor and Im still getting that code. but the supriseing thing is..I got vtec now..I can hear it..and feel it...hopefully it stays...I've only had it for one day, and I spanked some *** with it..nor celica, mustang, or mercedes could keep up with me.

I know this sounds stupid but did you let the car warm up properly before doing hard pull? Is the strainer screen for the spool valve clean? What weight oil are you using?

yes fully warm 10w30 oil.
also, where is the strainer screen for the spool valve located? (im thinking of the one on the IACV)
im trying to get an answer, will the o2 sensor have anything to do with this? i mean when you hit vtec the air fuel mixture richens and the o2 sensor relays info like that, anyone?

The strainer is located between the head and the spool valve. My o2 isn't connected at all and VTEC stll screams like a virgin on the first night.
