Default no VTEC after head gasket change

I got my head gasket changed last week, the mechanic got the milled a little as well. I got th car back and now i have no VTEC. since i have the Hondata S300 i tried different VTEC points and still nothing. the car never switches over.

Why would this happen?

The VTEC is working sometimes but not all the time, seems as though it is working when it feels like it.
In some gears VTEC come on like 6000-7000. sometime it comes on at the usual 4700-5300. (since I have the the S300 i have the VTEC set using the "manifold pressure window" to allow VTEC to fluctuate the engagement point based on engine speed).

But it doesnt feel like it is engaging everytime. I just finished changine my oil and plugs. i will disable the window in a few mins and i will let you know later if VTEC is engaging.

Ok, it seems as though it is engaging each time but due to the increase in more compression since the head was milled few thousandths and a 2 layers head gasket. The VTEC point i believe has to be shifted.

Because the change over is still at 4700,it doesnt "feel" like a kick. It changes over but i doesnt have the same effect. What i will do it play with the points and see where is best.

the cars gonna feel like a dog if vtecs not poppin, its gonna feel like power is linear or falling off. if its not popping id ask yourself if you installed the o ring and dowl pin thing that goes in the middle of the head... cant rememer the name sorry.

there is an o ring and a dowl pin that goes under the cam cap that sits in the middle of the cams. if that thing is not installed you get no vtec... its a small part that may fall out, and if your an amature, you may not notice...

Didn't read the thread, but if this is a DOHC engine, you need to remove your cam cap/rails and reinstall them the right way.

no this is not the cam seal, it sits int he middle of the cyl head, underneath the middle cam cap... bascially just like this guy said:

and hes just being lazy like me, its hard to explain, but i think it should be clear now? hopefully...
