Vtec not engaging???
There lotsof write ups.. On vtec not working or engaging? But i cant find my answear.. Yet..anyways. So i have lsv with b16 head on my ek.. ..i replace the vtec gaskets..bout 2-3 weeks ago..just tought it be time to change the gasket since i bought the head with unknown milage and since they was kind leaks around that area too....well head works perfectly ..so before i change the gasket vtec will crack in good at 5200 rpms chipp ecu p75...wen i was changing gasket they where dirty and black lil dirt or something on the meshy looking thing.? Anyways so i replace both of them i started the car and no leaks or anything i make sure plugs where plug in correctly and they where...and i was low on oil and i added more oil..ad still vtec wont crack in..
Iknow there lots of post bout this but do you have to take out the battry terminal when you replace the gaskets becuase i dint doo that..? I doubt it will b the other things that ive been reading on other post...?
Im jist tryna see if my vtec solenoid coulnt **** gone bad since i dint took of the battery ? Can that b possible?
Just tryna get my asnwear prob this happem to other people...thanks.

Wire in a light on the oil pressure switch on the switched power side. But usually if it wasn't working it would throw a CEL. What makes you think it's not working?

Did you get it working? Vtec only has so many things it needs to engage. If your wired up correctly and your Vtec worked before you changed you gasket than its mechanic error. Parts don't go out while it isn't running. If it worked before you started your gasket change than it should work afterwards.

How do you "know" your oil pressure is fine? W/o a gauge then trust the dummy light, especially if you have another symptom related to low oil pressure. I'd highly recommend you at pull your oil pan off to see if the pump intake is blocked, and I'd certainly recommend getting an oil gauge (even if temporary).

Vtec been hitting good ...ima do an oil change and get fresh new oil on the motor.. And if the lights comes up.. Il put in a light and go from there ? And plus i am past the line on oil so there no oil leaks or any oil needed .. Other than oil change..

Re: Vtec not engaging???
Did u maybe put the head gasket on backwards so its blocking the oil port that feeds the vtec solenoid? Or if its a b18a1 block is the oil feed line hooked up i know the h22 heads there a 10mm bolt rite above the header that u can remove to test the oil pressure in the head. I think its 6x1.00 threds so u mite need a adapter to pipe thred to screw a 5 dollar 0-100 pressure gauge and make shure its around 8-10 psi at idle and around 50psi at 3000rpm

Re: Vtec not engaging???
I dont think so since i remeber how the old gasket was . It had the little screen towars inside. Easy i dont think and there no more leaks and kicks in nice . So idk how it stop for a while and started working . !? It started working once i got a wire and put on battery to the vtec selenoid ? It click and a day or two it stared working
