Yeah try a new coil just cause it tested out ok douesn't mean its good, First check to see if the coil is getting power. I just had the same problem with mine sorta. The coils only like 70 bucks so buy one and see if thats the problem if not then you can just return it. Your parts store should have one in stock for a GSR.

Car was running flawlessly before this happened. It just shut down like someone turned the key off. It was just being tuned up for routine maintenance.

The coil power is good. So is power to the ignitor. All fuses check out(test light and visual). I just hate to replace the coil and have it not be that. especially since the primary and secondary resistance are good. Plus I couldn't see any arc marks.

It sound like there might be a problem with the new cap and rotor, check every connection. Are they identical to the old ones. Where did you get the new parts ?

Cap and rotor came from napa. I actually switched back to the old cap and rotor, didn't make a difference. Because it ran so smoothly for about 20 seconds I wouldn't think that was it.
