Spark Problem....
OK heres the problem...a few weeks ago i put a new coil in and thought that was the problem...well about a week ago my new coil went out so i put a new coil in it for the 2nd time and a new ignitor b/c i was told to do so w/ changing to a new coil. Well, after puting the new coil and ignitor in the car has no spark..does anyone know what could be the problm? Also..im getting power to my coil just not getting any spark! Thanks in advance!
dizzy's work in funky ays some times...try using a different dizzy case and put your internals in to see if that works(shaft might be bent).]
also try a different ignitor.
also try a different ignitor.
YOU PROBABLY HAVE A SHORT IN YOUR HARNESS.....JUST THE SLIGHTESS MISTAKE IN INSTALLING THE COILS AND IGNITOR CAN SHORT OUT YOUR HARNESS....MY FRIEND HAD THAT PROBLEM BEFORE AND CHANGED OUT THE HARNESS....AFTER THAT IT WORK FINE.....
what harness are we talking about here? please let me konw...and BUMP for anymore suggestions or definate results...my car hasnt been running for over a week (and not been running right for over a month) and i need this **** running right! Please...

he's referring to the engine harness. you can trace down the wires going from the distributor to the ecu and find the short. that's if you have time on your hand(cheapest route" true mechanic) OR you can just replace the engine harness as a whole(expensive "parts changer" route) and never know which wire shorted out. personally I'd rather troubleshoot the problem before I replace any parts but that's me.

yea that could happen...but where would i notice that it has shorted out...and also...ive put another distributer in to see if was in the dis. somewhere and nothing happen...still no spark....does anybody KNOW what could be wrong?
Well the next thing I would do is check the signal for each magnetic pickup in the dis. Get a voltmeter set it to AC and test one pickup at a time. They should all be different but should definetly produce some voltage. Once you verify that, trace out the same wires at the ecu and make sure you get the same results there. If you do, try another ecu, if you dont, you found the problem.
