My leak cover was damaged recently...so I took it out and before I could replace it...a heavy storm came in....and I have no garage. So right now just the leak cover is missing and can't put one in until the rain stops. Shouldn't be something to be worried about right?

Whats a leak cover?

 

Covers the coil and ignitor. Rotor goes above it and distributor cap covers everything.

I know what you are talking about now. I don't think it's super important. But I would put it back on when you can.

 

That cover is intended to keep carbon and metal dust off the ignitor/coil. If you build up a layer of that stuff and add a little condensation, you could very likely experience ignition problems. It's not an emergency situation, but replace it sooner than later.
