92 Accord distributor dust cover
Hi,
I changed the cap and rotor today.
Under the cap and rotor is a what I would call a dust cover. It crumbled to pieces as I was trying to get the rotor off.
Is this piece necessary?
Seems to run fine without it so far.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: 92 Accord distributor dust cover (danz0r)
You are close in calling it a dust cover. It is actually a leak cover. It will run just fine without it. It is there as extra leak protection for the distributors internal electronic parts. if you live in an area prone to damp weather you should probably replace it.
Honda part #30107-P08-006 TEC Dist,leak cover. it's like $5.
