Default General troubleshooting?

My buddy has a 94 gsr that was fast, 15.2 bone stock. he liked it, I liked it.

somthing has recently happened. its now a 17 second car.
no misfires, no funny idle no change in ANYTHING.

tommrow we are just gonna start tearing down **** to see what we can find out, everything from ignition and fuel to the cat.

anyone have suggestions on what to check?

the car is just slow, we dont know whats wrong because it runs fine. just no power. all 4 cyllinders appear to be firing and getting fuel.

recently: changed oil, changed plugs, fuel injector cleaner

Also before tearing it down do a compression test and check timing.

could the catalytic converter be plugged, Intake restricted somewhere, If the car seems to run fine besides being slow, then I would definately check out the air intake and exhaust functions of the car.
