Default Help!! Nitrous problems!!

Got a direct port on my car and am shooting about an 80 shot on an LS motor. As soon as the nitrous is engaged, the car bogs hard for half a second and then pulls fine and hard after that.Installed nitrous before, but never had this problem.Any ideas?Good lookin out.

need seperate fuel system for the nitrous or at the very least a inline pump to help out so you dont have a drop in fuel pressure.

Sounds like to much fuel. What jets are you running?

I am running 24 on the nitrous and 16 on the fuel.Like I said,as soon as the bog is over,it pulls hard and no sign of detonation.I had a direct port on my GSR a few years back and it didn't do this. Thanks for the help guys.Keep it coming.

I'm running NOS direct port kit # 04430 "import 4 cylinder pro race fogger system" along with a warlboro 255lph high pressure intank fuel pump and i experience the same issue. My car cuts out / bogs for a split second when the nitrous is activated and pulls hard afterwards. I did verify that the fuel pressure drops to 0 psi for a split sec. when the nitrous system is activated. A lot of people have suggested to run a whole seperate fuel system for the nitrous system. Bump because i'd like to hear if anyone actually remedied this issue as well.

The samething happen to me,aj99si is right you need 2 fuel pumps to run a direct port. put in another pump and your problem will be gone!

if you read in the instructions with the direct port kit it says you need a seperate fuel system for the nitrous. A friends car was doing the same thing bogging off the line. We added a seperate fuel system for the nitrous including a msd inline fuel pump drawing from a different outlet on the fuel cell as the motor was. A adjustable fuel pressure regulator and return line. With this setup there is no hesitation and it runs great. NOS jetings however are very rich. When I went to the 160 jetting I had to go down on the fuel jet because it was so rich it would make it miss. AFR's were 10 and below.

When i had the same problem,I posted up here and I think it was dturbocivic that once had the same problem on the 120 shot like i was running and he told me about the 2 fuel pumps and it sloved the problem. But if you look in the instructions
That i never read tell later it says it must run it 's own fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump.Maybe some how you setup is diffrent i don't know,But everone i have talk to runs 2 fuel pumps and regulators.maybe you got lucky

Just found out the car is running a stock dx fuel pump. The 255 walbro was sold with the turbo kit that was on the car before. Gonna put a pump in the tank and see how she pulls. We'll see.Keep the info coming.Again...thanks.

OUCH this coulda been a bad situation

yes it is true you should use a seperate pump for a direct port set up, some installs require a seperate regulator and such.

you should be able to get away with a walbro 255 tho

you can usually get away wit the 255 pump but it will work alot better with a seperate fule system

We also had another car running upwards of a 160 shot on a intanke and never had that issue but who knows maybe we had good luck. But yeah a stock pump could have been the problem.

running another pump close to the motor should help with the pressue drop. you wont really get any more flow out of the fuel system if the pumps are in series, but i bet the fuel pressure would recover a lot quicker.

Just an update for you guys. Installed a Walbro 255 pump yesterday and took the coupe for a test drive. Damn!! No more bogging or nothing. As soon as the Nitrous hits, that car pulls hard.Probably go alot faster if the tires werent spinning so much.Feels great. No detonation or nothing. That Gude Nitrous computer helped out good too. Thanks for all the advice on my problem.I appreciate it.
