Default need help with a problem!!!!!!!

I have an ls/vtec (94 ls block, 94 gsr/jg head, and type r pistons and rods). Just a few days ago something went wrong and someone told me that it was a fuel problem, but i need alot more help. Everytime its in gear and i rev the engine up to vtec it starts poppin and laggin. I dont know what da hell is going on and help would work.

well, if you do have a gsr head on a block with type-r pistons then you have very high compression, hence the detonation you are experiencing. run some VP 116 octane gas through it and retard the timing a bit. you also might want to up the fuel pressure a bit. ~49,50 psi

Check your OIL level! If its low on oil, you wont have enough oil pressure to keep it in VTEC. Just my $.02

Check the oil LEVEL... if the level is low then fill it, and test it. Any Check engine light? That usually comes on when Vtec disengages due to lack of oil, as well it should through a knock sensor Check engine light if your running to low of an octane gas?

What is your ignition timing at??? Really once you get the problem fixed you could boost it but I would take it apart again and take the time to do it right... building it.. Even with stock sleeves overbore a bit and slap some low compression pistons and some rods in the bottom end... My friend's GSR EK is nothing special... stock sleeves, JE 9.0:1 slugs, Eagle rods, Portflow head, RC 900's, JG Victor X manifold, Rev Hard stage 2C turbo kit with a T3/T04E hybrid turbo, Tial wastegate, Turbo XS BOV, and Hondata 2b... It made 355whp on 13lbs. and ran an 11.91@119 is his full interior daily driven EK... That's not really all that great but one of my other friends has the exact some motor sleeved to 84.5mm with a straight T04 and he made 505whp on 22lbs. in his daily driven EK... That just goes to show you what building does... I don't really think you would be happy with the gains from a stock bottom end motor and it just won't hold up the same... Good Luck with your car now... Peace
