ok i need your thoughts on this i searched...not much help. just got the 23vtec going and the vtec changeover is weird sometimes it works perfect and sometimes it changes over and is very jerky for about 500rpm and then it seems to be cool. im not getting any check engine lights. is this a vtec oil pressure problem or a fuel and timing thing? it is very built and still kinda raw i want to get sorted before the dyno tuning. thanks

 

Sounds like an oil pressure problem.

it has a brand new h22a oil pump. where would the problem be?

 

I had the same problem and it was my distributor. The bearings were bad. The funny thing is it would only hesitate at vtec crossover.

oil level is fine.

 

so thats it? no more ideas

 

Get an oil pressure gauge and see what kind of pressure your getting.
