Need Help with the O2 sensor on the Catalytic Converter
Well I'm in the process of installing a toda header and testpipe in my 00 civic si. My question is that I cut (the wires) my O2 sensor off the car, the one that goes to the Cat. I tried for 2 hours to get the sensor unscrewed but that b*tch was rusted or something, sheet would not come off. Anyway is this gonna be a problem? I already know that i was going to get the check engine light but is this gonna cause anything else? I'm gonna get a reprogramed ecu and have the signal removed. But as far as everything else running straight, will i be alright?
i just had the same problem with my old motor trying to get the o2 sensor out
get some wd40, spraythe outside of the nut try not to hit the rubber or the sensor
let it soak overnight
then get a wrench and a breaker bar
if that dosent work you can try an air drill
thats what i finally had to use.

You don't need to reprogram the ECU if you want i can send you a list of wires to cross to bypass ur secondary O2 sensor, it will get rid of ur CEI so you don't even have to worry about it. The damn secondary O2 doesn't even really do anything important anyway like the prim does!

Well i'm getting a reprogramed ecu mainly for my toda b's. So i was gonna get the signal removed in the process. Thanks for the offer anyway
Hey JDM, can you tell me what wires to cross to eliminate the 02 sensor by the cat. I got a CEL because of it and I want to bypass it. Oh, by the way, its a d16z6 in a 1988 crx si and its using the p28 ecu.

are you talkin about the primary o2 sensor?...JDMSPEC??...where is the primpary 02 senor located?? cuz for my check engine light its number 41 (primary 02 sensor)..
I'm not quite sure what its called. Isnt there a sensor on the exhaust manifold, and a sensor down near the cat? Thats what I was thinkin. I dont have a cat so I figured at least one code I am throwing is from that sensor. I have not checked my ecu codes because the service connector is no where to be found. But I know that sensor is gonna be one of the codes.

theres a special socket made especially for o2 sensors....go check your nearest autoparts store or honda/acura to see if they have it
