o2 Sensor problems
i purchased a obx high flow cat. when i went to install it i noticed the stock cat had a hole in the top and the obx cat was at the bottom. in that case the o2 sensor wasnt long enough. so i cut the cable an extened it and put it together. statered my car and check engine light came on. i checked with a computer and it said it was my o2 sensor. any ideas.
thanks

dont cut 02 sensor wires.... they're specific voltage, amperage, and resistance. if you change this it will cause the signal to be off. i'd say find an oxygen sensor that has wires long enough and the correct plug. (like from a DA if you're OBD1)
o2 sensor on the bottom? thats retarded /: most of us is rollin around dropped.... lets just shave our O2 sensor off on a speed bump
i would send the, cat, back and ask for one welded on top.... if they wont .. just buy a test pipe with the o2 on top

did you just mount it upside down? - if its mounted right go to a muffler shop and have them cut/flip/reweld, and bingo
EDIT - do you mean top/bottom or front/back?

ya i have never seen an o2 sensor on the bottom. but it doesnt get in the way of anything. if i buy the universal does any one have a pic of the connector for obd1.

O2 sensors are pretty troublesome because of the speed they sample, but I haven't had any problems when extending the wires on an o2 sensor. I would really go back and check your wiring, you might have swapped the heater side.

I am obd2 and I replaced my o2 sensor with a universal bosch and haven't thrown a code. I tried to cut the wires so that it was the same length as OEM.
