Need help, Broke bolt changing oil pan.
The bolt snapped when it was about half way out, I have the head and about 1/2 of the screw still attached. Since the screw was on its wy out, the part still in there is at the top of the opening. I need to get my car rolling ASAP, what should I do? I searched, but only two post about oil pans, and they broke the head off with the whole screw in there. Whats an easy out? One of the post mentioned that.
try vice grips...and when torqueing the studs and nuts down be very gentle. they require very little, maybe 8 ft/lbs.
you wanna tighten the oil pan down in a criss cross pattern as well. don't overtorque as you will probably either break a stud or have the gasket expand outwards.
damn i miss my car. college sucks right now

It didn't break from overtorqueing, it was the last screw when the oil pan came down and I guess it wasn't all the way out so when the pan came down it snapped. I'll try the screw driver thing when I get home, any other ideas? Please
I'd just like to let everyone know that I don't own or know how to use a blow torch, so pretty please don't mention solutions that use one. I'm liable to get desperate and end up burning the hell out of my car.
Also one of the guys at work said just take a smaller diameter drill bit and drill out the bolt, does that work? Sounds a little too easy, and like it might mess up my threads.

drilling out the bolt could work, just choose a bit smaller than the bolt and you'll be fine. As you start to drill into the bolt, it will likely being to spin with the drill bit eventually and just spin out.

Also, it's tricky to drill right straight in the center of the broken bolt...
Look for a left-handed drill bit. They're not real easy to find, but then you put your drill in reverse; it often catches & backs the screw out.
