Default MSD 6AL install

The instructions reads the power (12+) and ground must be to the battery terminals, but latter says that chasis ground will work. Why wouldn't chasis ground work? I'm going to have to trunk mount mine since there is absolutely no space in the engine bay and I already have a power distribution block in the trunk anyhow.
TIA

Most electronics actually work better off of chassis ground. The battery acts like a big capacitor and filters out voltage spikes/noise from the alternator. I would use chassis ground, everything else electrical on your car does.

I would ground it directly to the battery or a distribution point. You never know the condition of another body ground. It can corrode and/or have resistance and not be the best ground. If the battery isnt dead, the msd will have power the other way.
