:: techedge v1 install question, please help, installing right now ::
i just picked up a used techedge v1 and i am getting ready to do the install, but i am unsure about something. so here's my question, for the power and ground do i want the power off of the battery (true 12v) or do i want it off of an acc line? and for the ground, any chassis ground will work right? thanks in advance for your help.

the V1 kit needs a good voltage source of 13.5volts. you can get it at the battery, thats reliable and not much voltage drop. and chassis ground is good as long as you scrape the paint a bit to insure good ground. the cig lighter is an easy place to put it, but mine works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt, so its not a reliable source.

if it is wired directly to the battery, isnt it gonna be on all the time? what do you do to make sure you dont drain your battery at night?
also, when you say cigarette lighter, you are talking about a power source, correct? or is there a good place to ground there also? thanks.

just run it off the battery, but remember when there is power at the o2 controller, it will be heating the sensor. so it may be best to dissconect it when u are not driving/dynoing. it's just slightly easer on the sensor's life.

i'm not sure what you are talking about. like i said, i got this unit used.
another question, i have everything hooked up just like you said (battery and ground). now when i connect the display it reads "1 2=". wtf? i thought it was supposed to read 14.7 when it is in open air. any suggestions? please lemme know, thanks.

when i said cig lighter i meant i got a surplus male cig plug to power/ground my wideband box so i can plug it and unplug it with ease. but like i said the cigs not a reliable power source, so learn from my experience.
im not sure what the TE should say, but my DIY-WB is similar to the TE V1, and until the sensor is warmed up <30sec it reads 2.5 volt. in free air mine reads about 4.3volt, so lambda is 4.3-1.5= 2.8v or 14.7 AFR
