Default Mounting a battery in the back , battery relocation

Hey everyone.. I searched a bit and couldnt really find anything. I want to relocate my battery to my hatch. This should be pretty stright forward correct? Just mount in rear, ground well, and run a nice 2ga or 4ga wire to the front to power systems? Should I run a ground up to the front for systems also?

Thank You for any help or advice..

... keep the ground short.. so when i get to the wires under the hood that were hooked directly to the - side of battery just ground to the body now instead of -terminal..??

Yup, just find a good ground somwhere near keeping it short as possible/ less resistance.

You still need the chassis to engine ground, under hood.
When you install the batt. in the rear you will ground the batt. to the cars chassis, from batt. neg.(-) to cars chassis, floor pan of car, preferably to the frame rail, seat and seat belt bolts will work great, rear bumper bolts also work well, even shock tower studs will work but to the floor pan is best, [seat belt or bumper bolts].94

So, just so I am clear.. Ground the negative terminal on the battery with a short, and secure wire to chassis in rear. Then, the wires that were connected to the negative terminal up front, just ground securely to chassis??

Yes! haha have you ever worked with sounds? Just ground for (-) negative and run a 4 guage wire for your (+) positive.

For the front the batt. neg.(-) should already be grounded to the chassis and the engine, [one cable].
You can just cut off the section that was between the batt. and the chassis, leaving the section between the chassis and the engine.

I would remove it compleatly, [neg.(-) batt. cable] and replace it with a 4ga between the chassis and the engine. 94

Sorta a side note, but are you using installing a drycell battery? Or just taking your regular battery and placing it in the back in a battery box?

Run the + to the big lug on the starter. And run a small 8-10ga wire from the starter to your fuse box.

Anytime you are placing your battery in an enclosed location like a trunk or hatchback.

You can use a drycell without a box.

not sure if ima upgrade my batt. when i do this, prolly will. thinkin of using a Optima dual purpose blue top D34M[?]. it has gereat start power and great deep-cycle good for high power audio systems. want the blue instead of yellow to match other blue sh!# in car. any thoughts on this??

--b16a1eg6-- So you say i should run my +positive wire from the battery in the rear stright to the starter then jump power from the starter to the fuse box/any other needs.. do i have that right?? why do u do it like that, just to keep it neat/clean? i think it sounds good.

thanks 4 the help..
