MSD 6A Ignition, the problem? How to test?
Alright I've been having the toughest time trying to figure this out. I have a '88 CRX DX ZC swap with a MSD 6A and Blaster 2 Coil wired. I have been having a hard time starting the car when it's warm out. But when I jump it with another car when it's warm out, it has absolutely no problem starting.
I have checked main relay, ecu, starter, battery, and all grounds coming off the battery. My only guess would be that I may have a faulty MSD 6A ignitor box.
Here's what it does: Main relay clicks, starter clicks, fuel pump primes, but does not turn over at all.
Could it possibly be the MSD 6A? If so, how do I test to see if it is faulty?
Any suggestions very much appreciated!

i think that might be the problem. i was only getting 3-4 volts out of the starter remote wire with a multi-meter last night. i'm going to have to dig into it tonight when i get off to see if it is really the problem. from the crx manual it seems like that is the only signal going into the starter is from the ignition switch.
Check the connection of the two bigger white wires in your under hood fuse box. Also the fuse. These are the ignition wires from the battery to the ignition switch. Also check the connection of the small black/yellow stripe wire on the starter.
if you though it was the battery at one time and changed that already... and then the supptoms occured again then maybe it's the power wire(white) coming from the alternator going into the fuse box. usually people ignore that wire and the connection of it under fuse box(under the hood)...
buy a new connector and cut out part of the wire(about a good 2" from connector) then crimp the terminal and put everything back together.
the reason i pointed this out the you guys is because the alternator is not chargingthe battery anymore, therefore the car opperates off of the battery.
if you go look under the hood, in side the fuse box... you can see that that wire(usually 8 or 6 gauge... not sure) is pretty white from over the year. meaning it curroded.
