Default Motor sleeve on forced induction.

Im pushing 12lbs of boost with a big 16g turbo on a B18B1 and im replacing the pistons with low compression at an 80 over bore, ive already swapped to 310 lucas racing fuel injectors and a 255 walbro fuel pump, and a brand new fuel regulator. I was wondering how whether i should sleeve the block before i drop the motor back in. Also i was wondering what it cost to sleeve a motor i was informed anywhere from 2.5-3 thousand is that true?

golden eagle has sleeved blocks in he forsale forum for close to 900$ in think check there. 12 pounds of boost youll be fine on stock sleeves. is that bore in metric or standard. never heard of that on stock sleeves. its all in how u tune the car

laskeyracing has sleeved and built blocks going for like 2-3k

check the website

http://www.laskeyracing.com

if u just want to sleeve the block, it will run you about 1k + give or take.

I dont know much about boosting but... isnt 12 lbs of boost on stock not good?? Thats a whole lot of boost for a normally naturally aspirated engine. Also, at 12 lbs... isnt 310 injectors kind of small?? Also, can you boost 12 lbs on regular pump gas?? Would it be different if he had a b18c1?

You are right though. sleeving can run that much. I would assume more round the 1500-2k area

your injectors are undersized.

what are you using to tune and run this thing? (what ecu/program)

12 psi if tuned should be ok w/o sleeving, but when you say 80 overbore, lol, what does that mean? .080"? that's 2mm and is entirely too much for a stock sleeve, even if you went N/A! if you did bore that much that block is now useless and you will need to resleeve it to use it.

ok, so .030 is .75mm; that's too much for a stock block that will see boost.

so i assume the cylinder walls were really beat up somehow or it was ovalled because that is a whole lot for a 'required' initial over bore

you'll need to sleeve.

The block is in wonderful condition except for one cylinder has a slightly rough spot. My biggest problem is finding where i can order pistons at a .030" bore. Its the only thing im currently waiting on before i can start physicaly rebuilding it.
