OBD1 doesn't have a misfire detection system like OBD2 does. You need to give more info like what car, engine, ECU, etc...

Are you using OEM ignition components for the cap, rotor, wires and plugs?

Any other maintenace or modifications done to the engine?

Ok my car was fine when it was stock. I turboed the car, leaving the everything else stock. I changed out the ecu for a chipped bod1 ecu. Everything ran good.

Then i decided to go back to stock and went back to using my obd2 ecu. And that was when i got the misfire cel. I got new plugs, new wires, and new cap. I then tried using my friends distributor and his obd2 ecu and i still got the same cel.
Then i tried switching the injectors around, but it still had it in cylinder #4.

But the thing is, the whole time my car runs fine with no major signs of misfire. One couldnt tell if it wasnt for that cel.

Thank you for replying

What is your fuel pressure? Do you have an adjustable FPR or stock? Can you go back to the stock fuel pump? Can you do a compression/leakdown test?

I dont know my fuel pressure and my fpr is stock. I dont think i can find my stock fuel pump. I did a compression check it checked out great with all cylinders within 5psi or less between them. I havent done a leakdown test though.

I will try replacing my fuel fitler later today. What do you think it is?

Hey whats up bro. I did the vavle adjustment and i still got the cel! I ended saying screw it, and went obd1, installed the turbo back, and threw got it dyno tuned. It wasnt anything Tuner said something about electronic being off or something. I think you should be ok man

i checked compression, and all cylinders checked out at 210 across the board.
The spark plugs came gapped at .035.

could be 80 psi across all 4 on one gauge, and 250 across all 4 on another gauge.

You really shouldn't judge an engine on the actual numbers, but rather the consistancy......I'd do a proper valve adjustment and redo the test. I'm sure the numbers will change slightly
