Default Limp mode but no CEL

Recently my b20b went into limp mode, but unfortunately there's no CEL so I can't read any codes. Car won't go pass 3500 rpm, changed injectors took it to pep boys and did a fuel cleansing and still the same. I reset my ecu couple times and still, can someone give me some hints on where to start looking could it just be my ecu that's fried?

could be literally anything but generally limp doesn't come without a CEL.

Cam timing
Sensors
Distributor bad sensors
Etc

Everything starts up normal, engine turns and idles fine, but when I'm revving it doesn't want to let me get over 3500 rpms
Thinking about getting a new ecu off eBay to see if that'll fix anything

limp mode with no codes usually means code 0, which means bad ecu. No codes is different than code 0 though.
To test for code zero, just check the codes the normal way by jumping the service connector with ignition on. If the CEL lights up solid, there are no codes. If the cel stays off, that means code 0.
