Is a manual Vtec possible?
Now I know that for Vtec to engage there needs to be sufficient oil pressure, temp, and all the rest. But what actually engages the Vtec, is it an electrical signal from the ECU or a mechanical operation?
I was thinking on the way home that it would be nice to have a light come on that indicated when Vtec was available and to engage U could press a button (F&F NOS style) or something...ofcourse there would have to be an overide that would make it automatic like usual...manual all the time would be a pain.
I have heard that if you turn around the oil pressure switch for Vtec it will be engaged all the time, is this true?
Am I an idiot
or is there some sence to the idea?

No sense, your an idiot. there is only one optimal point in which vtec should be activated........it is when the power bands for the low cam lobe, and high cam lobe meet. basically where vtec powerband meets non-vtec powerband. At no other point will you get a gain.
well besides it being cool(i don't think it would be cool at all) i see absolutley no point and vtec is engaged by an electrical signal sent to a solenoid so technically yes you could do this
