Lucas gear/diff lubricant.
So while playing with my fiasco of the alternator business keeping me stranded last night, I put the new one in earlier today. When I pulled out my intermediate shaft, since i was on a hill, the oil from the tranny drained out some.
I could not get to Honda to buy more MTF, so I threw in about 1/2 a bottle of this stuff since it was all I could get a hold of. I've read lucas froths up and well I want to keep my j1 tranny w/the ls5th gear in tip top shape.
Any people have experience with it transmissin wise? I read the article that showed lucas oil addidive frothing up.

I tried using some in my LS transmission, which has a bad grind in theird gear. The transmission is basically a goner. So I figured 'what the heck'. It has worked well for almost two years and even cut down the grind. However, I don't know how good it would be to use in an otherwise good transmission.

If you want to help bad synchros, pick up some synchromesh. If you have a good tranny and can't find any MTF, 30wt motor oil works fine.

yeah i read that link already, just wanted some others to chime in
good thing i didn't replace my whole tranny with it, just refilled it
on another note, if i have grime on the thing sheet metal plate that covers the flywheel, would that more likely be from a rear main seal, or would it be from a oil pan not sealed well...b/c mmine is
